LA is my favorite city. Gorgeous gardens, palm trees, the beach, the hills, iconic architecture, beautiful weather and pretty people. I like to check out the different neighborhoods — Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Venice and on this trip Koreatown. Take a look at my last trip!
The Line Hotel – We enjoyed our stay there, the beds face the window so you look out toward the Hollywood Sign…good morning LA! The Koreatown location is close to downtown and the hills, the hotel is just east of the Wiltern Theatre and a few blocks from the iconic, grand dame Bullock’s Wilshire. The Line was an office building built in the ’60’s. POT, Roy Choi’s restaurant is in the lobby.
Salt Air – a lovely little restaurant on Abbot Kinney in Venice, recommended by Goop for good seafood. We enjoyed fresh oysters, awesome lobster rolls, and a good bottle of white in the cutest beach bungalow. After lunch stroll Abbot Kinney for new threads and then head over to Venice Beach to Small World Books, lotsa good reads.
chi Spacca – Nancy Silverton & Mario Batali’s latest adventure in food, right next door to Mozza. It is small and meat centric but they do have some delicious vegetable sides, do not miss the baby Romanesco cauliflower. Nancy was eating there the night that we dined!
Silver Lake – Start your day with a walk around the Frank Lloyd Wright, Hollyhock House. Built in 1919 and truly stunning…they just don’t make homes like that anymore. For dinner Farfalla Trattoria is always good.
Beverly Hot Springs – LA’s only all natural mineral hot springs will make your skin so soft and the massage will take all of your travel pains away. Get off the plane and make that your first stop.
Bryan Ferry in concert – Totally amazing, Roxy Music all the way! Do the Strand! Beautiful backup singers, a gorgeous female saxophonist and a stunning female drummer. Go Bryan!!! What a way to cap off the trip.
LA I LOVE YOU!xoxoxo
